Baseball Evaluations

PLAYER EVALUATIONS FOR THE SPRING SEASON

Player evaluations are required for all baseball players League Age 9 through League Age 12 (Minors, Coast and Majors).  8-year-olds who want to play in Minors must attend evaluations (see more information below).  Little League Age can be determined from the Little League age chart on this page.

Why Do we do Evaluations?

  • Unlike lower level baseball (AAA, AA, T-ball), teams in the upper level divisions (Minors, Coast and Majors) are formed through a draft process*
  • Player evaluations enable coaches/managers to draft players in a division where they will have the best chance of success and fun, and also help us to form evenly balanced teams.
  • If your child is unable to attend evaluations during their league age time slot, please email Scott Roberts or Mike Reeve ASAP at vp_baseball@kirklandamerican.com

Note for 8-year-old players: In order to have a full number of players on each team, there is typically room for a few 8-year-olds to play in Minors.  This is based on space first and then ability.  Eight year olds who want to be considered to play in Minors must attend player evaluations.

* For more information on the draft process in Minors, Coast and Majors, please see our Local League Rules
